Here Are the Pictures We Need
Sections aren’t universal. Every manufacturer builds them differently, and even within one brand there are different models and panel designs. So we don’t guess — your photos let us identify exactly what you have and order the section that matches.
Five photos and two measurements. That’s it.
The Full Front of Your Door
Closed, taken from outside. Stand back far enough that the whole door is in the frame, including the trim on both sides.
The Full Back of Your Door
From inside the garage, door closed. Turn the light on if you have one — we’re looking at the construction of the panels here.
The Edge of the Sections
We would like to see a picture of the interface between the two sections from the side edge of the door. You’ll need to squeeze your phone between the track and the wall – or snap the photo while the door is open.
BONUS: If there are labels on the side edge of your door, those are probably the most useful pictures we can get.
Any Manufacturer Labels or Markings – Often on One of the Side Edges
Usually stickers, and they turn up in odd places — the back of a panel, the track, near the bottom weather seal. Photograph any you find, even if the print looks worn.
Close-Ups of the Damage
Whatever angles you think help us see what’s going on. More is better — it costs you nothing to send an extra shot.
Measurements Are Super Helpful, Too
Measure the section — the width and the height of the damaged panel.
Common section widths are 8′, 9′ or 16′. Common section heights are 21″ or 18″. Yours may be something different, which is exactly why a quick check with a tape measure is worth it. Rough is fine — we’re confirming size, not cutting to it.
Ready? Give Us a Call.
We’ll tell you where to send your photos, then come back to you with a price and a timeline — usually the same day.

One thing worth saying plainly: once you’ve sent the photos, identifying the section is our job. If we order it and the wrong one shows up, that’s ours to sort out — not yours.
What the New Section Will Look Like
A replacement section is new. Your existing door isn’t. Worth knowing before we start:
- Color may not match perfectly (but it might be so close you can’t even see it). Your door has been out in the weather — faded, and carrying dirt and road film. The new section comes from the factory. Even at an identical color code, it can look brighter than the panels around it.
- Sheen may differ. New paint is glossier; older paint dulls in the sun. This evens out over time, but it might be noticeable at first. People usually find this to be a complete non-issue.
- Design and texture may vary slightly. Manufacturers update panel designs, embossing, and woodgrain over the years. On an older door, the current version of your panel may be a very close match rather than an exact one.
- Sections are brand and model specific. We can only replace yours with one that fits your door’s manufacturer and model — which is exactly why the photos and labels matter.
